Pon Equipment and Fremby sign cooperation agreement
Just before the holiday season started, Fremby was able to sign yet another cooperation agreement, this time with Pon Equipment AS, the dealer for CAT in Norway. The purpose of the collaboration is to use data in a smarter way to optimize resource utilization for companies in the construction and civil engineering sector. A seminar on smart use of data is now being planned for this autumn to reach out to shared customers.
Collaboration for better resource utilization through smart use of data
Just before the holiday season started, Fremby was able to sign yet another cooperation agreement, this time with Pon Equipment AS, the dealer for CAT in Norway. Represented in the picture (from left) are Ole-Petter Holene, Director of Service at Pon Equipment, Sigve Pettersen, CEO of Fremby, and Ole Anders Nygaard, Sales and Product Manager, Parts and Service at Pon Equipment.
Together with our mutual customer, Feiring Bruk AS, Pon Equipment, Fremby, and CAT have worked closely on developing smart data sharing based on international standards. This successful collaboration led to CAT machines being the first to stream data into Fremby's data platform.
"We are seeing an increasing demand from customers for data to optimize their fleet and use for other purposes. The collaboration with Feiring Bruk and Fremby has been very rewarding so far. This was the first pilot we engaged in to connect to Visionlink's ISO API. Now more will have access to these solutions, and we look forward to showing more customers the possibilities of machine data together with Fremby after the holiday!" says Ole-Petter Holene, Service Director, Pon Equipment AS
Pon Equipment provides Visionlink, which is CAT's advanced web solution for data from their machines. The collaboration has thus led to Visionlink offering data. When Feiring Bruk needed to enrich their energy management system with data from mobile crushers, Pon was able to help with that. The mobile crushers were equipped with a "Product Link" module that is connected to important sensors on the CAT engines, which in turn delivered data through Visionlink and Fremby.
"Smarter use and sharing of data is becoming increasingly important for us in our efforts to become more sustainable. To reduce emissions and optimize the utilization of our machine fleet, we are simply dependent on our suppliers sharing data. We have quite a few CAT machines here, and therefore it means a lot to us that Pon is a driving force in this development," says Margrethe Ollendorff Lien, Business Development and Innovation, Feiring Bruk AS.
Margrethe explains that fuel data was previously read from invoices. This was time-consuming and only provided general consumption per department. Now all machines report themselves through smart sharing connections to Fremby, and directly into the energy management system. This way, they know at all times how much fuel the machines are using, and can use this information in their improvement work.
How to get started?
The collaboration means that Fremby and Pon will jointly offer customers user-friendly digital tools to get more out of their machine fleet. Contact Fremby or Pon, and we'll help you get started.
Data sharing and APIs are something many are curious about. Together, Fremby and Pon are planning a seminar where we will talk about the opportunities this provides. If you want to know how you can use data to improve your operations, get in touch!
